Pet Peeve
If there’s one thing that really pisses me off, it’s unpleasant employees. It’s like, I’m sorry you hate your minimum wage retail/fastfood/grocery store job but I am a customer and you better be nice to me, dammit. I don’t care if your boyfriend dumped you last night and your cat Fluffy is in the hospital. I am a paying customer and it’s a part of your job description to be friendly.
So the other day I was at Dunkin’ Donuts. I ordered 2 Dunkacinos, a boston cream, and a chocolate long john. I paid with my credit card and when the depressed looking cashier chick gave me my receipt there was a line telling me to put my signature on it. Well, since the cashier didn’t direct me to sign, I said:
“So….do I need to sign?”
“Um. No. Did I say you needed to sign?
“Well, no…but…”
“B-b-but then you don’t have to.”
Like seriously. What was the point of her rudeness? If anything I was doing her a favor by asking because at the end of the day when her manager sees an unsigned cred card receipt she’s going to be the one getting fired from Dunkin’ Donuts. Not me.
Man. I am always SO nice when I’m at work. You know what? It makes me HAPPY to help someone find the perfect college T-shirt or their favorite player’s jersey. You wanna know why? Because I work at Campus Colors and it’s my job.
