Oreo Balls: Special Occasion or Just to Gorge
Oreo balls are truly out of this world. Even if you don’t like Oreos, you’re bound to fall in love with these scrumptious balls of awesomeness.I made them as an experiment for the first time this past Christmas. I was hesitant they would be a disappointment compared to my usual peanut butter balls, but to my surprise (and satisfaction) my family devoured them before I even got a chance to snag one. Luckily, I tried one before desert was served.
Beat em’, freeze em’, roll em’, eat em’.
What you need:
1 entire package of Oreos
1 8 oz package softened cream cheese
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, white, butterscotch, your pick!)
What you gotta do:
1.Crush Oreos until fine. I use the bottom of a cup, but if you find a better method, let me know.
2. Beat cream cheese with a mixer until creamy. Add Oroes and mix until the mixture is smooth.
3. Put mixture in the freezer for an hour or 2, but if it’s longer than that, it’s okay.
4. Scoop, and roll into balls.
5. Melt chocolate chips in microwave. Drizzle over balls or dunk balls in. (I just take a spoon full and poor it over each ball.)
So try these out for your next special occasion or just for the heck of it. Using white chocolate chips can be fun. Get creative with food coloring to make your balls even prettier.
